Adding Sound to the Gorre & Daphetid

The haunting sound of 4-10-0 #34 echoes through Texas Draw as it pulls a

fast freight eastbound on the Summit Subdivision from Squawbottom to

Port.

Adding sound brings John Allen’s Gorre & Daphetid RR to life!

For both Macintosh OS X and Windows, Startly Technologies software

QuicKeys in combination with RealPlayer provides an excellent platform for

adding sound to TrainPlayer. Sounds may be played at will or programmed

to integrate with train movements.

In the macros provided chuffing sounds increase and decrease with

acceleration and deceleration in relatively smooth transition. Steam,

squealing wheels, bell and whistle can be played separately or overlaid. Six

whistles are provided which may be played individually or combined.

Many computer users likely already have QuicKeys. If not, QuicKeys may be

purchased from Startly Technologies for $79.95 US.

RealPlayer is free from Real.

A slow freight pulled by 2-6-6-2 #37 departs Austin Street Station for Port.
