Now that you have seen the
layout, it's time to have some
fun running trains. What
follows is a series of
operating scenarios that will
give you an idea of how the
layout was operated in a
typical operating session.
It was customary to have one person dispatching, one operating the
yard at Revelstoke, one at Arrowhead loading and unloading the
barge, and four to six operating trains through the layout. Engineers
and the dispatcher were in communication via radios.
Since you have only you, operations that would otherwise be
progressing simultaneously, by necessity have to be carried out in
sequence.
