Sowbelly
Sowbelly, on the bank
of Sowbelly Creek, has
a siding directly off the
main line with no
runaround. The siding
services an oil well and
a storage tank that
holds the crude oil
pumped from the well
until it is loaded into
tank cars for the trip
to the refinery.
Remnants of a timber trestle
support the east end of the
siding.
A spur track just to the west of Sowbelly serves a logging camp where logs
cut and collected in a logging pond are loaded for the trip to the sawmill.
In addition to Squawbottom and Cross Junction, Sowbelly is a station stop
for the Gorre Peddler on the partially completed Gorre & Daphetid RR.
